Let’s get started!
How to recover your hacked Twitter account (can’t login)?

If you cannot login to your Twitter account and think that you have been hacked, then you need to reset your password.
Head to the Twitter login page and fill the password reset form. For this you will need to specify your Twitter username or e-mail associated with your Twitter account.
Notice, this works only if you still have access to your e-mail account. You will receive a link to your e-mail inbox and from there you will be able to reset your password and login once again. Check if everything is fine, if everything is okay then you are good to go.

What to do if your Twitter account has been compromised?

If you still are able to log in to your Twitter account but think that someone else has access to your account, then you will need to follow different steps to fully recover and secure your account.
You can notice that your Twitter account has been compromised by seeing tweets that you didn’t post or strange activity (likes, comments, follow) that you didn’t do. You may even receive a notification from Twitter stating that your account may be compromised and you need to take further action.
Here’s how to secure your compromised Twitter account:
Firstly, login to your compromised Twitter account, head to Settings and change your password. Make sure that you input a strong password that you haven’t used before and is not similar to the previous ones.
Secondly, I highly suggest checking your personal details and information whether it has been changed by the hacker or not. Check e-mail that is associated with your account, make sure its your e-mail address.
Thirdly, hacker won’t be automatically logged out from your account even if you just changed your password. You need to revoke third-party app access to your Twitter account.
Just go to your Twitter account and head to Settings. From there, go to Apps. Here you will be able to revoke access to your account. If hacker would want to login to your account again, he will be prompted to insert your new password.

Mainly accounts get compromised when you insert your password and try to login using some malicious third-party apps or websites. That’s where you need to be extra cautious while visiting such websites or using apps.
Also, you may have viruses and malware on your computer or smartphone, so you need to use up to date antivirus. Free antivirus protection software is usually enough to prevent from being hacked. Just make sure to periodically scan your computer and smartphone from viruses.
