If you have accidentally erased messages from Facebook app and would like to recover them, then just follow these steps and you will be able to do so:
- Open up Facebook app and login to your profile if you haven’t already.
- Click on the menu icon at the top right corner of your screen.
- Scroll down and select “Settings & Privacy”. From the drop-down menu select “Settings”.
- Scroll down till you find option to “Download your information”. Click on it.
- Here you will be able to download all of your Facebook profile’s information or select the type of information you would like to download. For this example I will only choose to download my Messages.
- Now scroll down and choose the date range if you would like to. I will leave it set to download all of my messages.
- Click on “Create file” button. Copy of your messages should be created within a few minutes, depending on the quantity of messages you have. Facebook will Inform you once it is ready for download.
- As you can see my messages folder is ready for download, so just click on “Download” and it will start downloading.
- After you finished downloading it, open it up and search for the deleted message.
Done! You have successfully recovered deleted messages on Facebook App!
