If you want to take a break from Instagram but can’t quite figure out how to do it? It’s simple, you can either permanently delete or temporarily disable your Instagram account. Luckily, removing your Instagram account is pretty straight forward process.
In this article you are going to learn how to permanently delete or temporary disable your Instagram account.
Let’s get started!
How to permanently delete your Instagram account?
It is important to understand that if you choose to permanently delete your Instagram account, then there is no way back. You won’t be able to reactivate it or register a new account with the same username.
If you are still not completely sure about this, then I would suggest you to temporary disable your Instagram account (you will be able to reactivate it if you change your mind later on).
However, if you have decided to permanently delete your Instagram account, then follow the steps below:
- Go to Instagram’s official “Delete your account” page using your web browser https://instagram.com/accounts/remove/request/permanent/. Notice: you won’t be able to delete your account using Instagram App;
- Login to your account if you haven’t already;
- You will be asked “Why are you deleting your account?”, select any option from the dropdown menu. You will be asked to re-enter your password;
- Click on “Permanently delete my account”. Done!

How to reactivate disabled Instagram account?
If you are ready to get back on Instagram again, you can reactivate your disabled Instagram account. However, if you have permanently deleted it earlier, then there is no way to get that account back, so you will need to sign up for a new account.
To reactivate your disabled account, just login to your Instagram account as usual and your account will be automatically reactivated. Easy as that!
